We are Larry and Terry – American US Sponsor and Chinese fiancée/wife – a couple who recently completed the K1 Visa–to–Green Card process. We are sharing what we have learned. You will not, to our knowledge, find such comprehensive and easily accessible written content elsewhere.

We had a great immigration attorney working for us, and he was indeed very calm and reassuring throughout the lengthy process. However, there are many things we had to improvise. We learned by doing and, although our research was fruitful, it didn’t provide most of the answers, especially for the nuances and details nor for what WE should be doing during the “gaps” between the stages of the process. For example, we always knew there would be a long wait after filing the 129 F Petition for the foreign fiancée. But we found only scant comments on what WE should be doing to get ready before the foreign spouse got notified of the Consulate Interview.
